Maria Bello will get me into hot water. Focus, focus.

The film deals with the love life of a set of women (and a couple of blokes) that belong to, wait for it, The Jane Austen Book Club.

I would have never paid to see a movie with a title like that, but the rating on Rotten Tomatoes (and Maria Bello) convinced me otherwise and I was pleasantly surprised. The film is in fact enchanting without the usual dollop of American sentimentality.

It glides along at a nice pace and is completely engaging. None of the plots feel forced and the one or two twists are completely unexpected. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Maria Bello is hotter than ever. I don’t seem to remember much about the rest of the cast…
