‘Departures’ (FILM)
Only the Japanese can make a film that is both heartbreaking and uplifting, without it turning soppy. ‘Departures’ moved me to tears, but was always authentic. It celebrates life through showing a deep respect for death.
Waltz with Bashir (FILM)
Sadly not a lot of people will see this beautiful film. ‘Waltz with Bashir’ is on at Nouveau, it is a subtitled animated documentary that deals with war.
