Due to a ban on the import of rabbits/rabbit products, South Africa has been free of Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease. That was until November 2022 when it broke out in the Western Cape. In October 2023 Gauteng was hit hard. Wheelbarrows full of rabbits were being carted off to mass graves. I will spare you the pictures.

One way to fight the disease is to vaccinate rabbits – domesticated pets, wild rabbits and hares. I can focus on helping pet rabbits. It is not a cheap exercise.
